From the 27^th  May to 1^st  June 2013, SAREP (Southern Africa Regional Environmental Project) organized a one week Training of CLTS Facilitators Workshop in Kasika, Caprivi Region, Namibia, in close collaboration with IRDNC and the Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation Coordination (DWSSC) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Forestry (MAWF). This was the first training workshop and experimental use of the CLTS approach in the Caprivi Region of Namibia.

The CLTS program in Caprivi, Namibia is part of a larger CLTS program initiated by SAREP in its three partner countries – Angola, Botswana, and Namibia. The first CLTS program was initiated in Shakawe, northern Botswana in November 2012. The Kasika workshop is the second in a series of training activities designed to build up experience and train facilitators in using the CLTS approach. The third training workshop will be held in Angola in August 2013.

The aim of the workshop was to test out the CLTS approach and create teams of facilitators who can facilitate CLTS triggering and follow-up activities in the Kasika and Impalila areas of Caprivi. Read the training workshop report
