Introducing CLTS in East Pokot

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

In January 2011, Philip Vincent Otieno from the Plan Kenya CLTS Team conducted a CLTS training in East Pokot, sponsored by the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED). The training was held in Churo town which is mainly inhabited by the semi-nomadic Pokot community whose lives centre around their livestock. Latrine coverage is extremely low in the area (5%), and most people practice open defecation.
