Dr Josué Ibulungu parle d'une stratégie WASH semi-urbaine en RDC [English subtitles]

Dr Josué Ibulungu (Coordinateur du Consortium SWIFT en RDC, Oxfam) parle du développement d’une stratégie semi-urbaine pour l’assainissement, l’hygiène et l’eau en RDC.   Cette stratégie adapte sensiblement l’approche CLTS pour être utilisée dans les zones semi-urbaines.

English translation: Dr Josué Ibulungu (Sustainable WASH in Fragile Contexts (SWIFT) Consortium Coordinator, Oxfam Congo) talks about the development of a semi-urban strategy for sanitation, hygiene and water in Democratic Republic of Congo. This strategy significantly adapts CLTS for use in for semi-urban areas.

Adama Sy parle du les Caisses de Solidarité Villageoise (Sénégal) [English subtitles]

Adama Sy (Responsable de programme, Agetip, Sénégal) parle d’une initiative locale, les Caisses de Solidarité Villageoise, auxquelles toutes les personnes au sein d’un même village contribuent, même les plus démunies. Le  but de cette initiative est de pouvoir soutenir financièrement tous les villageois à construire des latrines et à y accéder. Une fois que le statut FDAL est atteint les caisses continuent de soutenir les gens à construire des latrines améliorées.

On September 26, the USAID-funded Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Partnerships and Learning for Sustainability (WASHPaLS) Project held this webinar and discussion on sanitation enterprises and design considerations. WASHPaLS presents a detailed discussion of the elements of a sanitation enterprise including mechanisms and practices, design approaches, and key considerations based upon the findings a recent WASHPaLS desk review.

Jamie Myers on Innovations for Urban Sanitation: Adapting Community-led Approaches

Community solutions for improved sanitation in Kenya

Elijah Nyangena Gichora (WASH and Health Advisor, Plan International) talks about working with community units in the coastal district of Kilifi in Kenya to help them develop their own improved sanitation solutions enabling them to sustain their ODF status.

This interview was filmed at the East and Southern Africa Regional Sharing and Learning Workshop on CLTS and Rural Sanitation 16 – 20 April 2018, Arusha, Tanzania. The event was organised by the CLTS Knowledge Hub with support from SNV Tanzania, and it was funded by SIDA.
