The CLTS Knowledge Hub has just published the latest issue in the Frontiers series- Breaking the next taboo: Menstrual Hygiene within CLTS. This issue of Frontiers of CLTS illustrates how Community-led Total Sanitation (CLTS) programmes can be expanded to address menstrual hygiene management (MHM) in schools and communities to alleviate these stresses on women and girls.

Handwashing is a vital part of good sanitation and hygiene and the issue is always raised during triggering. If the community (and the facilitator) understands CLTS and its true meaning of cutting all faecal-oral contamination routes, there is no way handwashing will be left out.
What better way to start off this new CLTS blog than with the excitement and buzz from AfricaSan 3, which took place in Kigali last week? We had four intense days of learning, networking and sharing experiences with many of the over 900 delegates that attended the conference.
