Is a Research Associate at BRAC Development Institute, BRAC University. She has been involved in research since 1989, working mostly with Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) and in partnership with Population Council, New York, Save the Children Fund, USA, and local non-government organizations such as UBINIG and Nagorik Uddyog. The main focus of her previous research has been on family structure change in rural Bangladesh and adolescent girls. Recently she has been working on grassroots organizations, citizenship and rights. She has experience of conducting both qualitative and quantitative research.
Kabita Chowdhury has a Master's Degree in Islamic History and Culture, from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, 1991.
